 New Year, New You, as they say. In fact for 2026 it’s New Us, because there’s a change of programming over at Seaford. Starting this month, our Seaford gigs are going to be bi-monthly… to give you even more anticipatory delight! Those of you in Seaford who need your jazz fix every four weeks might consider going across to Eastbourne, where we will still be running gigs on the last Wednesday of each month. A few hardy souls have already ventured across the Downs to the Fishermen’s in Eastbourne, or even more daringly, to Cooden Beach for weekly Sunday lunchtime jazz with Neal and guests. You’ll be able to see from the listings below who is on when and where so you can plan accordingly. So, back to New Year. Less stressful (and cheaper) than Christmas… and no pressure to produce the perfect (vegan) roast lunch, where everything is ready at the same time, there are no lumps in the gravy and the crackers actually BANG. But New Year is party season, which brings its own problems. Who to invite? What to wear? Will we remember to record Jools Holland’s Hootenanny? Well no problem if you forget that because at Seaford on January 12th you’ll be able to see Derek Nash, a Jools Holland and Hootenanny regular – LIVE! How much better is that? Last year Derek sold out, so make up your mind to come, book in advance or get to The View early.
