And here we are in February, the month we all love to hate, and one of the most commonly misspelled English words. Another one is Wednesday, so it follows that any Wednesday in February is going to be a minefield for poor spellers…
It’s the only month that can pass without a full moon (last was 1999, next is 2037), so don’t waste your time standing outside in the cold looking for one.
Only 28 days this year in February – the next leap year will be in 2028. Leap years exist to keep the calendar aligned with the Earth’s orbit around the sun, which takes slightly longer than 365 days. The birth flowers for February are violet and primrose so you could romance your loved one (or someone else’s if you’re feeling daring) on Valentine’s Day with a a posy of February flowers and it would make a nice change from the more typical red roses. Rely on us at Splash Point for helpful hints on pretty much anything. [Except anything remotely useful – Ed.]

Monday 13 Feb 2026 sees us venture to London again, to the marvellous Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club, with Neal Richardson’s Jazz Lovers’ Trio feat. Jo Fooks (sax).
Neal and Miles are also there on the 27th and 28th in the Piano Room.
Wednesday February 25th (check those spellings! 😇) at our Eastbourne club sees the return of pianist Chris Ingham, this time celebrating the music of the Dudley Moore Trio. (If you saw Chris’s tribute to Hoagy Carmichael in 2024 you’ll remember what a great evening that was.)
Meanwhile, Neal will be playing regularly at the lovely Cooden Beach Hotel on Sunday lunchtimes throughout the month with various guests. If you haven’t been there yet – why not?! Amazing location, good food… excellent music! Plus, a choice of TWO gigs on Valentine’s evening, and another appearance on Worthing Pier…
