It hardly seems possible that it’s already September! Season of ‘mists and mellow fruitfulness’ as Keats would have it, and less poetically, Harvest Festival as the rest of us will no doubt remember from our schooldays. But did you know that September 19th is International Talk Like A Pirate Day? (yes, really…) So, me hearties, get your eye patches and parrots ready for that one.
August was a bloomin’ good month at Splash Point Jazz (see below for photographic evidence of this), and September looks set to follow on a similar high, with a new show from Neal & Sue at Seaford, prior to them taking it to Germany. Meanwhile, over at Eastbourne there’s the wonderful Nicola Farnon playing double bass and singing (how many of those do you come across??) and Neal with his Wired trio plus Jo Fooks in the garden. That’s playing not weeding. And there’s much more besides on which to spend your doubloons and shiver your timbers (oh stop it…)
