![]() Remember, remember the 5th of November! Well you can forget that because there’s nothing on at either of our jazz clubs on the 5th (not that we’re narcissistic or anything) – though Neal will be playing at Raffles as usual. There are plenty of other dates to remember and as an aide memoire (we pride ourselves on our linguistic abilities here…) we have given you all the significant dates below. And if you inadvertently delete this newsletter from your inbox (how could you?) you can always look at the online calendar on our sparkly new website. (www.splashpointmusic.com) If you wish to immerse yourselves fully in Bonfire Night festivities, you could: Nail a Catherine Wheel to the side of the shed, light it, and then watch it fizzle out without so much as a single revolution. Stick a rocket in a bottle and watch it fall over just as the fuse reaches the gunpowder, sending aforementioned firework across the lawn and into your prize chrysanthemums… Actually, as always, it was a lot more fun at Seaford’s own Bonfire Night on 12th Oct, which we proudly support; it’s a HUGE community event. (For our overseas readers, also look up the history of our county town Lewes’ crazily-massive bonfire night which is the biggest in the known Universe) Or, you could just make a batch of gingery Parkin, and enjoy it sitting indoors with your headphones on and some mellow jazz to block out the bangs and whirrs… and overseas Elections. (Oh damn we mentioned it. A gingery bonfire effigy anyone?😱) Back to neutral, here’s a look back at October’s gigs, and then (drumroll…) The Listings! (But please always check our online calendarfor any last-min changes) BTW, it’s the month of the London Jazz Festival (15th-24th), so if you’re up in town pop in for a drink with Neal at Raffles! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * PREVIOUSLY SEEN AND HEARD @splashpointjazz last month Guess what?
