 Hello Spring Chickens! Cast your minds back to the 15th of February 1971, when the UK went decimal. Remember that? No longer 12 pennies in a shilling, and 20 shillings in a pound – suddenly everything was in tens and so much easier (as a result most of us were flummoxed for weeks afterwards). So ten became a really important number, except that it always had been: Ten Commandments, ten green bottles, 10CC, ten to one, the Ten Ages of Man (or was that seven?) Ten Pillars of Wisdom (seven??) Ten Deadly Sins (definitely seven) the Magnificent Ten (sigh)… my life would have been much easier if we’d done this three years ago… And now another hugely important TEN! It was in March 2015 that jazz pianist/singer Neal Richardson, aspirational and still dark-haired, threw open the doors of The View to let in a dazed group of Seaford residents, who’d read the poster wrong and thought they were coming to a comedy show – and Splash Point Jazz Club Seaford was born!! Ten years later and we’re still here – bigger and better than we ever dared hope, and it’s all thanks to YOU for your wonderful support throughout the years, so give yourselves a huge round of applause. We celebrate ten years on March 10th, with the fantastic violinist Ben Holder, and look forward to seeing you all then – including maybe some of those who were at that first gig ten years ago.
