#splashpointjazz July 2026 News Splash

Hi very hot jazz fans!

Last month’s gigs ranged from solo to 30-piece big band, so hopefully there was something to please some of all the people some of all the time!

This month, the World Cup ⚽️  staggers to it’s thrilling (!) final on Sunday July 19th, and at Splash Point Jazz we are excited to be bringing you pre-match music in two outdoor settings:

Eastbourne Fishermen’s Club and Cooden Beach Hotel. More details in the listings below.

Either one will set you up perfectly for the drama and rigours of the forthcoming match. It would actually be possible to dip into both if you’ve got the will and your own transport (don’t rely on the trains…) as Cooden finishes shortly before Eastbourne starts.

Who knows if the England team will be there on the 19th? (in the final, not at Splash Point Jazz – although some would say both are equally unlikely…).

Having survived a record June heatwave at the Eastbourne Tennis 🎾, playing music every day, we see that July is definitely a sporting month too, so bad luck if you’re not into sports.🤦‍♂️

Events include the Commonwealth Games 🏃🏾‍♀️ in Glasgow, the Women’s Cricket World Cup 🏏, Wimbledon fortnight 🎾 and the Tour de France 🚴🏾‍♀️

[And just LOOK at all those tasteful emojis – Ed.]

But more exciting to us at SPJC is July 7th which is World Chocolate Day! 🍫 [Oops one more emoji 🤦‍♂️ – ok two – Ed.]

You may not realise it but the office staff are fuelled by chocolate, so we’ll be celebrating with a bar or several of some 70% dark. And maybe a truffle or two…

Time now for you to lose yourself in the photo gallery of June gigs, before getting your diaries out whilst you read The Listings! By the way, you can always see more photos and videos on our Instagram feed @splashpointjazz
