| Hello Summer LoversAnd here we are in July, the seventh month, named after Julius Caesar who came, saw and conga’d. An early exponent of line dancing, Julius was born on July 12th and died 55 years later when his old chum Brutus, behind him in the conga line, stuck a knife between his shoulder blades to see what would happen. What happened was Julius keeled over, but he really should have seen it coming. Lots of fun things happen in July. The kids break up from school for 6 weeks of annoying at home; St Swithun’s Day promises that if it rains on July 15th it’ll rain for another 40 days; Henley Regatta takes to the Thames (whether it rains or not) and SW19 hosts a tennis tournament. All of this pales into insignificance when viewed against the SPJC listings for July. We’ve got loads of jazz and stacks of lovely guests – you can read all that in a moment, but first we absolutely insist that you feast your eyes on some memories of our many June events. As usual, please feel free to forward this email to any of your friends who you want to impress with just how well connected you are… * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * PREVIOUSLY SEEN AND HEARD @splashpointjazz last month ![]() Jazz in The Garden with (L-R) Andy Panayi, Gabriel Garrick, Paul Whitten, Malcolm Earle-Smith, David Beebee SPJC Seaford (L-R): Neal, Sue Richardson, Miles Danso, Buster Birch, Jo Fooks and guest Andy Panayi![]() Our friends at GuestHouse Storytelling Night at Newhaven, feat.
